The world's best space photography, from stunning skyscapes to mind-blowing shots of faraway planets and galaxies, is showcased in Astronomy Photographer of the Year.
Photographers from all over the world compete each year to be included in the final exhibition and win the prestigious title.
The competition allows photographers of all skill levels to submit up to ten images.
Adult photographers, young photographers, and newcomers to astrophotography are eligible for separate photography prizes. Below is a comprehensive list of competition categories.
All applicants stand a chance of winning cash, a year's subscription to BBC Sky at Night, a copy of Astronomy Photographer of the Year, and an exhibition of their work at the National Maritime Museum.
From January 9 to March 3, 2023, entries for the 2023 competition are accepted.
