Are you a woman or nonbinary photographer under 30 with a long-term documentary project in progress? The Magnum Foundation invites you to apply for the Inge Morath Award, a prestigious grant designed to help emerging photographers complete their work.

Inge Morath, an Austrian-born photographer, was a trailblazer in the field and a longtime member of Magnum Photos. After her death in 2002, her legacy was preserved through the Inge Morath Foundation, which facilitated research on her contributions to photography. In 2014, her archive found a permanent home at Yale University’s Beinecke Library, with select prints housed at the Yale University Art Gallery.

Passionate about supporting women photographers, Morath’s colleagues at Magnum Photos established the Inge Morath Award in her memory. Today, the award is managed by the Magnum Foundation in partnership with the Inge Morath Estate, continuing her mission of fostering inclusivity and excellence in documentary photography.
