The Magnum Foundation is accepting applications for the Inge Morath Award, a grant supporting women and nonbinary photographers under 30 in bringing their long-term documentary projects to completion.

A pioneering photographer, Inge Morath was a key figure at Magnum Photos for nearly 50 years. Following her death in 2002, the Inge Morath Foundation was formed to manage her estate and promote appreciation of her work. Her archive is now preserved at Yale University’s Beinecke Library, while a curated selection of her master prints is accessible at the Yale University Art Gallery.

Morath believed in uplifting women in photography, and to honor this commitment, her colleagues at Magnum Photos created the Inge Morath Award. Now overseen by the Magnum Foundation, the award continues to champion diverse voices and innovative storytelling in documentary photography, in collaboration with the Inge Morath Estate.
