Dreams provide an expansive and boundless canvas for photographers to delve into the realms of imagination, self-exploration, and surreal creativity. Within these dreamscapes, photographers can depict the rich layers of the subconscious, weaving together images that are both introspective and visually captivating. Whether inspired by fleeting thoughts, haunting memories, or fantastical visions, these works possess the power to transcend the ordinary and lead viewers into worlds unknown. By exploring the delicate balance between reality and illusion, photographers can uncover the magic, mystery, and depth that characterize our inner landscapes.
For this exhibition, we are seeking photographs that embody the spirit of dreaming—images that blur the boundaries between the tangible and the imagined. We encourage submissions that feel ethereal, intimate, mysterious, or even unsettling. Whether through surreal digital compositions, evocative film photography, or experimental abstract interpretations, we invite photographers to showcase their unique visions. Our goal is to gather a collection of works that evoke wonder, challenge perception, and stir the imagination.
We are proud to announce that Emma Powell will serve as the juror for "Dreams and Imagined Realities." She will carefully select up to 35 images for display in our Middlebury, Vermont gallery, while an additional 40 works will be presented in our Online Gallery. Each of the chosen 75 photographs will be included in our exhibition catalog, permanently featured on our website, and promoted through our social media platforms, with links to each photographer's online presence.
