Women Street Photographers - Artist Residency Call



Submission is for Women Street Photographers Artist Residency in New York City March 30-April 14, 2025:



DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 9, 2024



-This is a juried Artist Residency call. Entries are $50.00 per entry, PER SERIES ( one cohesive theme or style ). The maximum is 10 images in one entry/series. You can enter up to 3 series. Use a new form for each series.



ARTIST STATEMENT IS IMPORTANT AND WILL BE JUDGED 50/50. Your Artist statement should reflect what your project is about, why winning the residency is important to you, and why you are the best candidate to win the residency.




TERMS AND RULES: READ THE ENTIRE TEXT



1.Choose 10 (TEN) photos (the images must form a cohesive and consistent entry). Photos can be done by ANY CAMERAS AND PHONES. COMPRESS INTO ONE ZIP FILE. Directions below.



– In the folder each file must be JPG or JPEG photographs sized at 1200 px on the longest side and each file should BE LESS than 1mb. (Google how to resize your files). THE ENTIRE ZIP FILE SHOULD BE LESS THAN 15MB.



- Entries MUST be named with a your first and last name and a number 01, 02....or 001, 002 Example: gulnara_lyabib01.jpg, gulnaralyabib01.jpg.

-You can include your previously winning photos as a part of your cohesive entry



2. Create a folder NAMED WITH WITH YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME and move your 10 files into the folder. (for example gulnara_lyabib.zip ) Google how to make a zip file.



-COMPRESS (!) your folder so it is a ONE ZIP FILE and LESS THAN 15MB in size. Google how.



3. Prepare your artist statement and bio. Artist statement should reflect what your project is about, why winning the residency is important to you, and why you are the best candidate to win the residency. Your series and artist statement will be judged equally 50/50




-The submission doesn't guarantee the residency.



– The entry must show street photography in public places.



– Entry can be from any year.



– NO multiple exposures, digital composites, removing or adding objects.



– NO Artificial Intelligence (AI) imagery



– NO watermark, text, or borders.



– Entry must not show sexual acts, genitals, violence, degrading actions.



- No refunds will be made but please know that your fee supports the residency. Thank you!




Winner, first runner-up and second runner-up announcement is around September 15.
